Why Free Dolphins?

More than 2,000 dolphins are being held captive right now around the world, trained to perform unnatural tricks in shows and made to swim with paying visitors. Hundreds are stolen from the wild each year to supply marine parks globally.

Keeping dolphins in captivity is cruel - their needs simply cannot be met in a swimming pool or tank which is a fraction of the size of their natural environment. Hundreds of wild dolphins, mostly juveniles, are stolen from their families each year in Taiji's infamous 'Cove' in Japan for a life in captivity, and thousands are killed because they are deemed not 'pretty' enough to keep for our entertainment.

But there is a global movement towards ending dolphin captivity, and many countries have already banned or stopped keeping them captive including Switzerland, Cyprus, Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia, Chile, Costa Rica, the United Kingdom and India. Every ticket purchased to visit captive dolphin facilities supports this cruel trade, and allows dolphin hunting to continue - but through education we can help end the demand and let dolphins live their lives wild and free.

Education is the key to ending dolphin captivity.

That's why Georgie has been sharing the story of Wally and Molly with many children around the world, including

in China, Japan, and Singapore, explaining why freedom for dolphins is so important.

If you love dolphins too, you can order a copy of DOLPHIN FREEDOM FOR WALLY AND MOLLY to help share this message.

All dolphins should swim wild and free, and not in captivity.
